I’ve always been open about trying new things when it comes to satisfying my taste buds, and the vegan food world has always sparked my curiosity and has given me food experiences that I’ll never forget. Whenever I try some really good vegan food, my first reaction is always, “I can’t believe this is vegan??!” or “I can’t believe this isn’t meat????!” It’s a type of food artistry that always leaves me surprised and I love it. It deserves an applause for being delicious, ethical, and good for you. I had a really great time at Eat, Drink, Vegan in Pasadena, California this past weekend. It was one of the best food festivals I’ve ever been to with over 100 different restaurants and vendors to choose from, endless sampling of beers and kombucha, and everything I ate was so mouth-watering and unique. It was a vegan foodie’s dream, and even if you aren’t vegan, you’d still be blown away at how much effort and love is put into making these plant-based foods. Stephanie, who is one of my closest friends and v Vegan, has been trying to get me to go to this festival for the past two years I think, and I’m so happy I finally got to experience it with her and our friends. My boyfriend, who is a non-vegan, even enjoyed it, which makes me so happy. I felt so much light and warmth being around a community that cares about being kind to animals, our planet, and even ourselves. There were so many booths promoting self-care and self-love, and it felt really refreshing to be around others that are health-conscious and actively want to put good things into our bodies. I was very inspired after this weekend and hope to keep practicing this perspective in my every day life.
As the sun was setting, we all decided that our stomachs were too full to eat more. It was nice to even just walk around the whole place and see the different booths that were selling merchandise and different products. The festival was between 2pm-8pm for general admission, but we left around 7pm when it was last call for drinks lol.
